Took the 50-minute speedboat to Mataking and arrived at a new, very clean resort with extremely friendly staff who were always smiling. The rooms are spacious wooden villas with their own character. Four meals a day were included and the free-flow crabs were a real highlight. Snorkeling gear and glass boat are all free. A lovely quiet island.

We chose Doris because it was newly opened and we wanted somewhere less crowded. It was a great decision. The rooms are large and comfortable, the staff are enthusiastic and helpful, and at 3-4pm we went shell and crab catching which the whole group loved. The beach and sandbank are genuinely beautiful.

Tomoya M. Japan

A very satisfying five-day trip. The resort is new and everything is in excellent condition. The Chinese-speaking butler made things easy for our group. Meals were generous with four a day and crab available throughout. Snorkeling was good right from the resort and the glass boat gave a clear view of the reef below.

Yun T. China

Everything was great at Doris Mataking. Came with family and the kids loved the play area, mahjong and karaoke in the lobby. The beach sand is clean and white, the water is clear, and the island is quiet with very few other tourists. The food variety was impressive and we had more than enough at each meal.

Wei M. China

The value for money here is excellent for what you get: spacious modern villa room, four good meals a day, free activities including snorkeling and glass boat, and a quiet uncrowded island. The staff are cheerful and happy to help with everything. The sunset from the lobby was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.

Christine D. France

A beautifully set resort on a quiet Mataking Island beach. The rooms are new and well-maintained, the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, and the four meals a day including afternoon tea were all well-prepared. The crab catching activity was a fun highlight that the whole group enjoyed. Will recommend to everyone.
